Gute Unterrichtsideen zur Erweiterung und Verbesserung des Lernens mit digitalen Medien sind das eine, die passende App für die jeweils gewünschte Methode das andere. Hilfreich sind hier immer Zusammenstellungen passender Apps nach Arbeitsphase oder Schulfach – allerdings ist auch interessant zu sehen, welche Apps eigentlich gerade im Bildungsbereich gefragt und beliebt sind. Bei der Durchsicht findet man oft gute und funktionale Apps für den eigenen Unterricht.

Die „Top Tools for Learning 2018“ – Liste wurde von Jane Hart auf Basis der Ergebnisse der „12th Annual Digital Learning Tools Survey“ zusammengestellt. Hierzu ist auch eine Analyse über die Top Tools Trends 2018 verfügbar.

Since 2007 Jane Hart at the Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies has been compiling an annual Top Tools for Learning List from the results of an open survey. The survey is now in its 12th year. These Top Tools lists now constitute an important and interesting longitudinal study not just into the popularity of tools for learning but into learning behaviour.
Learning professionals (and others in related areas) are invited to nominate their Top 10 (digital) tools for learning and their contributions are then used to generate the annual list. From 2007-2015 this was a Top 100 Tools for Learning list, but to mark the 10th anniversary of the project in 2016, the list was extended to 200 tools, and since that time 3 sub-lists have also been created in order to help identify the context of use for each of the tools.

The 2018 Top Tools for Learning 2018 list was was published on 24 September 2018, and made available as an interactive table which also shows each tool’s presence on the 3 sub-lists, how they fit into 30 defined categories of tools, as well as their change in position since 2017. There is also an interactive infographic of the list to download. Jane Hart has also provided an analysis of this year’s list and what she sees as the 10 Trends for Digital Learning in 2018.

Voting for the Top Tools for Learning 2019 (the 13th Annual Digital Learning Tools survey) will open in Spring 2019.
